The AOA now offers AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for CME provided directly or through joint providership.
The AOA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to certify education and issue CME credit to physicians. The AOA’s Division of Physician Education and CME is charged with ensuring that CME programming delivered by the AOA is evidence-based, relevant to clinicians’ needs and independent of commercial influence.
In addition to AOA Category 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B credit, the AOA now offers AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for CME provided directly or through joint providership with its constituencies. ACCME defines joint providership as the offering of a CME activity by one or more accredited and one or more non-accredited organizations. All joint providership CME activities must be consistent with the AOA’s CME mission and comply with ACCME standards.

Follow the steps below to submit your application for joint providership:
Your organization is responsible for meeting all deadlines and submitting required materials. Automatic email reminders are a courtesy provided by the AOA. Late fees may be assessed for documents that are not submitted on time.
In order to be considered for joint providership with the AOA, the interested organization must meet all of the following requirements:
NOTE: ACCME does not permit ineligible entities to be joint providers. ACCME defines an ineligible entity as any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by or used on patients. Providers of clinical service directly to patients are not considered to be ineligible entities, unless the provider of clinical service is owned or controlled by an ACCME-defined ineligible entity.
